The Portland Trail Blazers and the Indiana Pacers collide at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday night.
The Portland Trail Blazers have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting stopped by the Timberwolves in a 113-106 road loss on Wednesday. Damian Lillard led the way with 27 points and six assists, Jerami Grant added 26 points while Anfernee Simons chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 29 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Timberwolves in a tight contest, until late in the fourth quarter where the Timberwolves closed the final 3:08 on a 11-6 run to pull away and steal the game in the end. Keon Johnson had a rough night as he scored just three points on one of six shooting off the bench while Josh Hart finished with just one point on zero of four shooting.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in decent shape as they’ve won six of their last eight games overall, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after coming up painfully short to the 76ers in a 129-126 overtime road loss on Wednesday. Buddy Hield led the team with 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists, Benedict Mathurin added 19 points off the bench, Jalen Smith scored 17 points while Tyrese Haliburton chipped in with 16 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists. As a team, the Pacers shot 47 percent from the field and 13 of 36 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 36 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime after trailing by 13 points, only to come up short and score just six points in overtime to allow the 76ers off the hook.
Looking at the betting trends, the Trail Blazers are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a loss and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Pacers are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a tea with a winning record and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall, the Trail Blazers are 15-5 ATS in the last 20 meetings overall and the Trail Blazers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Indiana.
The Trail Blazers are going be shorthanded here as Justise Winslow is still out while Jerami Grant and Gary Payton II are both questionable. The Pacers are almost at full strength for this one and they are coming in as the team in better form with six wins in their past eight games. The Trail Blazers have cooled off a bit lately and they are still a little banged up, so I’m going to have to stick with the Pacers at home with the line so short.
