The Chicago Bulls pay a visit to the Philadelphia 76ers duke it out at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night.
The Chicago Bulls have been in great shape as they’ve won six of their last nine games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the red-hot Nets in a 121-112 home win on Wednesday. DeMar DeRozan and Patrick Williams each scored 22 points, Nikola Vucevic added 21 points with 13 rebounds and two blocks while Ayo Dosunmu chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Bulls shot 53 percent from the field and eight of 20 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 40 points in the first quarter to build an 18-point lead, before they made a final push with another 11-3 run in the fourth quarter to cap off the impressive win.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the hottest teams in the league as they’ve won 11 of their last 13 games overall and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after outlasting the Pacers in a 129-126 overtime win on Wednesday. James Harden led the team with 26 points, six rebounds and eight assists, Tobias Harris, De’Anthony Melton and Montrezl Harrell each scored 19 points while Tyrese Maxey chipped in with 17 points and six assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 49 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they poured in 70 points in the second and third quarters combined to build a 13-point lead, but it wasn’t enough to get the job done until overtime where they restricted the Pacers to just six points to escape with the narrow victory.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bulls are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record, 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games following a win and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games overall. The 76ers are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 home games, 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games following a win and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Philadelphia, the Bulls are 1-7 ATS in the last eight meetings in Philadelphia and the Bulls are 3-13 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall.
The Bulls have been building nicely, but they could be shorthanded once again as Alex Caruso and Javonte Green are both questionable here, while the 76ers have already ruled out Joel Embiid who is out with a foot injury. The Bulls will be full of confidence following their upset win over the Nets and they would love to stay hot with another win over the 76ers here who are missing their best player. I’m surprised the line is so short here, but the Bulls looked great in their last game and I think they can get the job done again in this spot.
