The Charlotte Hornets and the Milwaukee Bucks collide at the Fiserv Forum on Friday night.
The Charlotte Hornets have been in a slump as they’ve lost five of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting thrashed by the Grizzlies in a 131-107 loss on Wednesday. LaMelo Ball led the team with 23 points and 12 assists, Terry Rozier added 21 points while Jalen McDaniels chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Hornets shot 40 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line, but they came out with a lack of urgency and were never in the contest after getting dominated by 76-47 in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks are starting to heat up again as they’ve won three of their past four games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Raptors in a 104-101 road win on Wednesday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with a triple-double of 30 points with 21 rebounds and 10 assists, Grayson Allen added 16 points, Pat Connaughton scored 15 points while Bobby Portis chipped in with 14 points and 12 rebounds off the bench. As a team, the Bucks shot just 39 percent from the field and 13 of 39 from the 3-point line as they lost their focus and surrendered a 21-point lead, but they regrouped and restricted the Raptors to just four points in overtime to earn the gritty win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hornets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record, 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games following a double-digit loss at home and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Bucks are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 4-10-2 ATS in their last 16 games following a win.
Head to head, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall and the Hornets are 12-5-1 ATS in the last 18 meetings overall.
The Hornets are still missing Kelly Oubre Jr and Gordon Hayward is listed as day to day, while the Bucks are still missing Khris Middleton. The Hornets have been in terrible form lately and they looked so disjointed in their bad loss to the Grizzlies on Wednesday, so it’s hard to back them against a Bucks team who look to be back on the rise with a bunch of key players returning from injury. The line is quite hefty for this one, but the Bucks are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and I think that trend continues here as the Bucks cruise behind another big game from Antetokounmpo.
