The San Antonio Spurs pay a visit to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
The San Antonio Spurs have been struggling for form as they’ve lost seven of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting blown out by the Nets in a 139-103 road loss on Monday. Keldon Johnson led the team in scoring with 22 points on seven of 13 shooting, Devin Vassell added 14 points while Josh Richardson chipped in with 11 points off the bench. As a team, the Spurs shot just 43 percent from the field and eight of 31 from the 3-point line as they struggled to match the intensity of the Nets early on and just never looked in the contest after getting outscored by 74-47 in the first half.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks look to have moved on from their five-game losing streak as they are now aiming for a third straight victory after making light work of the struggling Suns in a 102-83 home win on Monday. Julius Randle led the team with 28 points with 16 rebounds and six assists, Jalen Brunson added 24 points with six assists while Immanuel Quickley chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Knicks shot 48 percent from the field and 13 of 33 from the 3-point line, but this win was all about their defense as they were always in control after restricting the Suns to a season-low 11 points in the first quarter.
Looking at the betting trends, the Spurs are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a loss of more than 10 points and 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games overall. The Knicks are 10-21-2 ATS in their last 33 home games, 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games following a win of more than 10 points and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in New York.
The Spurs have ruled out Keita Bates-Diop with an illness and Devin Vassell is listed as questionable, while the Knicks have ruled out RJ Barrett with Derrick Rose listed as questionable. The Spurs have really been doing it tough lately and things won’t get any easier if Vassell isn’t able to contribute off the bench, so I’ll stick with the Knicks who will be looking to stay hot after dominating the Suns in their last outing.
