The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Orlando Magic duke it out at the Amway Center on Wednesday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their last eight games and they will be eager to stay hot after blowing past the Celtics in a 150-117 home win last night. Josh Giddey led the team with 25 points on 10 of 15 shooting, Luguentz Dort added 23 points while Jalen Williams, Tre Mann and Isaiah Joe each scored 21 points. As a team, the Thunder shot a sizzling 59 percent from the field and 20 of 40 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 40 points in the second quarter to take a 20-point lead into halftime, before they poured in a ridiculous 48 points in the third quarter to put the game to bed early. The Thunder had a total of seven players finish in double figures in scoring with five of those players scoring at least 21 points.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic look to have cooled off from their win streak as they are now looking to arrest a three-game skid after getting thrashed by the Wizards in a 119-100 loss on Friday. Franz Wagner led the team with 28 points and eight assists, Paolo Banchero added 21 points while Markelle Fultz tallied 12 points with seven rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Magic shot just 42 percent from the field and five of 27 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and managed just 20 points in the first quarter to fall behind by nine points going into halftime and things only got worse in the third quarter where they leaked 42 points to fall behind by as many as 30 points at one stage.
Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 37-18 ATS in their last 55 road games. The Magic are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games, 6-14 ATS in their last 20 games against a team with a losing record and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Head to head, the Thunder are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Orlando and the Thunder are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
The Thunder are coming into this game with plenty of momentum after making a mockery of the Celtics last night in one of their best wins of the season. Meanwhile, the Magic are on a three-game slide and they just got blown out by the shorthanded Wizards, but they have the advantage of extra rest as they haven't played since Friday. The Magic could really do with a win and this looks like a great spot as the Thunder are playing their second game of a back to back set, but the Thunder are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings and I think they get the job done if they play half as good as they did last night.
