The Indiana Pacers and the Philadelphia 76ers collide at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night.
The Indiana Pacers have been in great form as they’ve won six of their last seven games overall and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after beating the Raptors in a 122-114 home win on Monday. Benedict Mathurin led the team with 21 points on six of nine shooting off the bench, Buddy Hield added 19 points, Myles Turner scored 18 points with 10 rebounds while Tyrese Haliburton tallied 16 points with eight assists. As a team, the Pacers shot 48 percent from the field and 10 of 27 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 37 points in the second quarter to erase an early 13-point deficit and take the narrow lead into halftime, before they went on a decisive 21-10 run in the fourth quarter to pull away and escape with the win.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been on fire as they’ve won 10 of their last 12 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after blowing past the Pelicans in a 120-111 home win on Monday. Joel Embiid led the team with 42 points, 11 rebounds and five assists on 15 of 24 shooting, James Harden added 27 points with eight assists while Georges Niang chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the 76ers shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 33 points in the first quarter to jump out to an early lead, but they found themselves in a real contest with the Pelicans until they poured in 36 points in the fourth quarter to escape with the narrow victory.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record, 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a win and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The 76ers are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings overall and the Pacers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Pacers will be shorthanded again as Kendall Brown is out while Chris Duarte is listed as questionable due to left ankle soreness. The 76ers are firing on all cylinders at the moment, they don’t have any players on the injury report and they’ve won 10 of their last 12 games. The Pacers are in a groove themselves and they are certainly capable of pulling off the upset, but the 76ers are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 home games and I think they should be able to just cover the spread in this spot.
