The Boston Celtics pay a visit to the Denver Nuggets at the Ball Arena on Sunday night.
The Boston Celtics look to be heating up again as they are looking to build on their current four-game win streak after sneaking past the Clippers in a 116-110 home win on Thursday. Jayson Tatum led the team with 29 points and 11 rebounds on 10 of 26 shooting, Jaylen Brown added 29 points on 12 of 25 shooting, Marcus Smart tallied 17 points with nine assists while Derrick White chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Celtics shot 48 percent from the field and 11 of 39 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 13-point lead before they went on a 24-12 run in the fourth quarter to pull away and escape with the hard-fought victory.
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in great shape as they’ve won nine of their last 11 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Heat in a 124-119 win on Friday. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the team with 20 points on seven of seven shooting, Nikola Jokic racked up a triple-double of 19 points with 12 rebounds and 12 assists while Bones Hyland drained five 3-pointers to finish with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Nuggets shot a sizzling 59 percent from the field and 17 of 28 from the 3-point line as they looked to be a step behind the Heat for most of the game to trail by nine points in the third quarter, but they caught fire with 39 points in the fourth quarter and they did it as a team as they finished with 34 assists on 45 made field goals.
Looking at the betting trends, the Celtics are 24-11-2 ATS in their last 37 road games, 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a winning record and 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team above .600. The Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings overall, the Celtics are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Denver and the Celtics are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
The Nuggets could be shorthanded here as Jamal Murray is questionable, but they should have Aaron Gordon and Bruce Brown back in the lineup, while the Celtics are coming in with a full squad except for the injured Danilo Gallinari. We’re set for a cracker of a game both teams are coming in with winning momentum. You could make an argument for either side here, but the Celtics are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall, so I’ll go with the visitors at the short line.
