The Orlando Magic pay a visit to the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday night.
The Orlando Magic have been in great form as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting thrashed by the Lakers in a 129-110 loss last night. Markelle Fultz led the team with 16 points, Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr each scored 15 points while Terrence Ross chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Magic shot 50 percent from the field and 10 of 28 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep pace with the Lakers from the start, falling behind by 10 points at halftime, before they leaked 37 points in the fourth quarter to get completely blown out.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost nine of their last 10 games and they will be hoping to put an end to a six-game slide after getting routed by the Clippers in a 142-131 overtime loss on Monday. Bojan Bogdanovic led the team with 23 points, Isaiah Stewart added 21 points on eight of 10 shooting, Killian Hayes scored 18 points with 10 assists while Jalen Duren chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Pistons shot 44 percent from the field and 16 of 34 from the 3-point line as they controlled most of the contest to lead by 14 points late in the fourth quarter, only to see the Clippers erase the lead and run away with it in overtime.
Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Pistons are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall, the Magic are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings in Detroit and the Magic are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Magic will again be missing Jalen Suggs and Chuma Okeke, while the Pistons are still without Marvin Bagley and Isaiah Livers. The Magic were on a great run before they got stopped in their tracks the Lakers last night, while the Pistons haven’t been able to build any momentum as they’ve lost six in a row. It’s still hard to get used to the Magic being in winning form, but they are the deserved favorites in this spot and I like them to get the win and cover here.
