The Chicago Bulls and the New York Knicks collide at Madison Square Garden on Friday night.
The Chicago Bulls have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last eight games and they will be gunning for a third straight win after outlasting the Hawks in a thrilling 110-108 road win on Wednesday. DeMar DeRozan led the way with 28 points, six rebounds and five assists, Zach LaVine added 22 points with five assists while Nikola Vucevic chipped in with 20 points. As a team, the Bulls shot 50 percent from the field and seven of 24 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble when they squandered an 18-point lead, but they stayed in the fight and closed the final 4:05 on a 16-8 run to steal the game thanks to Ayo Dosunmu who drained the game winner at the buzzer.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have been on fire as they were riding a season-high eight-game win streak, before falling back to earth with a 113-106 loss to the Raptors on Wednesday. Julius Randle racked up 30 points with 13 rebounds and four assists on 13 of 17 shooting, RJ Barrett added 30 points with five assists while Immanuel Quickley chipped in with 20 points on seven of 10 shooting. As a team, the Knicks shot 55 percent from the field and 11 of 26 from the 3-point line, but they just had no way of slowing down the Raptors’ Pascal Siakam who torched them for a career-high 52 points. Jalen Brunson had a rough night as he finished with just seven points and five turnovers on three of 14 shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bulls are 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 Friday games and 8-22-1 ATS in their last 31 games playing on one days’ rest, The Knicks are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 8-1 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Head to head, the under is 7-2 in the last nine meetings overall, the Bulls are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in New York and the Bulls are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.
The Bulls are shorthanded once again as Alex Caruso and Derrick Jones Jr are still out, while the Knicks are keeping an eye on Quentin Grimes who is day to day. The Bulls look like they are slowly turning things around and perhaps their thrilling win over the Hawks on Wednesday will spark them on a run, but the Knicks were red-hot before they ran into the Raptors, so I’ll back them to bounce back with a win at home.
