The Detroit Pistons and the Philadelphia 76ers collide at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night.
The Detroit Pistons have been in a real slump as they’ve lost six of their last seven games and they will be hoping to arrest a three-game skid after getting routed by the Jazz in a 126-111 loss last night. Jaden Ivey led the team in scoring with 30 points and five assists on 10 of 14 shooting, Bojan Bogdanovic and Jalen Duren each scored 15 points while Marvin Bagley chipped in with 10 points off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot 50 percent from the field and nine of 25 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Jazz in the first half, before getting blown out in the second half by 65-51 as they just had no answer for the Jazz’s Lauri Markkanen who torched them for 38 points with nine 3-pointers.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their last 11 games and they will be eager to build on their five-game win streak after sneaking past the Raptors in a 104-101 overtime home win on Monday. Joel Embiid led the team with 28 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, Tobias Harris added 21 points on seven of nine shooting while James Harden tallied 14 points with seven rebounds and eight assists. As a team, the 76ers shot just 40 percent from the field and 15 of 42 from the 3-point line, but they shot 25 of 27 from the free throw line and held the Raptors to just two points in overtime to earn the gritty win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 20-7-2 ATS in their last 29 road games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games playing on zero days rest and 9-4-2 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The 76ers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 11-1 ATS in their last 12 home games.
Head to head, the over is 8-1-1 in the last 10 meetings overall, the Pistons are 1-7 ATS in the last eight meetings in Philadelphia and the Pistons are 5-13 ATS in the last 18 meetings overall.
The 76ers are keeping an eye on Furkan Korkmaz who is listed as questionable, but they come into this meeting clearly as the team in better form and are deserved heavy favorites at home. The line is quite hefty, but the 76ers have been on fire at home for bettors as they are 11-1 ATS in their last 11 home games, so I’ll back the 76ers to get the blowout win here.
