The Toronto Raptors and the Philadelphia 76ers duke it out at the Wells Fargo Center on Monday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in a slump as they’ve lost eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a five-game slide after getting routed by the shorthanded Warriors in a 126-110 loss last night. Pascal Siakam led the way with 27 points, five rebounds and five assists, Fred VanVleet added 22 points with eight assists while Scottie Barnes chipped in with 17 points and four assists. As a team, the Raptors shot just 42 percent from the field and 13 of 33 from the 3-point line, but the real problems were on the defensive end as they just couldn’t slow the Warriors who poured in 102 points after just three quarters.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been on a nice run as they’ve won seven of their last 10 games overall and they will be eager to build on their four-game win streak after routing the Warriors in a 118-106 home win on Friday. Joel Embiid led the way with 34 points, 13 rebounds and four assists, James Harden tallied 27 points with nine assists while De’Anthony Melton racked up 17 points with nine rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 45 percent from the field and 15 of 38 from the 3-point line as they allowed the Warriors off to a hot start which had them trailing going into halftime, but they made the adjustments and dominated the second half by 63-49 to win comfortably in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on zero days rest and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. The 76ers are 11-0 ATS in their last 11 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall.
The Raptors are shorthanded again as OG Anunoby is still out and Gary Trent Jr is day to day, while the 76ers are keeping an eye on Furkan Korkmaz who is listed as questionable due to an illness. The Raptors just haven’t been able to get anything going this season and they are playing their second game of a back to back set against the 76ers who are 11-0 ATS in their last 11 home games. This should be a close one, but in the end I have the 76ers pulling away in the second half for the win and cover.
