The Boston Celtics will be looking for revenge against the Orlando Magic at the TD Garden on Sunday afternoon.
The Orlando Magic have been in great form as they are now gunning for a season-high sixth straight win after taking down the Celtics in a 117-109 upset road win on Friday. Moritz Wagner led the team with 25 points on nine of 12 shooting, Paolo Banchero added 20 points with five assists while Franz Wagner chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Magic shot 46 percent from the field and nine of 33 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going and fell behind by 10 points early, but they fought back and built a 19-point lead which proved to be enough in the end as the Celtics rallied late.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have cooled off a bit lately as they’ve lost three of their past four games and they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after falling to the Magic in a 117-109 home loss on Friday. Jayson Tatum led the way with 31 points, seven rebounds and three assists on nine of 20 shooting, Jaylen Brown added 26 points withs even turnovers while Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Celtics shot just 41 percent from the field and 11 of 46 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 10-point lead and just couldn’t get in their groove against an upstart Magic team. Marcus Smart had a quiet game of just 10 points on three of nine shooting while Derrick White finished with just three points on one of five shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 road games, 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 6-0 ATS in their last six games overall. The Celtics are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games, 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall and the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Boston.
The Magic are shorthanded once again as Gary Harris, Chuma Okeke, Jalen Suggs and Jonathan Isaac are all out, while the Celtics will be without Jayson Tatum for this one. The Magic have come to life with five wins on the trot and they will be full of confidence after beating the Celtics on Friday, but it’s always tough to beat the same team twice in a row in their own building, so I’m expecting the Celtics to bounce back in this one even without their leading scorer.
