The Washington Wizards and the Los Angele Clippers collide at the Crypto.com Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Washington Wizards have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 11 of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to snap an eight-game losing streak after getting routed by the Nuggets in a 141-128 road loss on Wednesday. Kyle Kuzma led the team with 24 points on nine of 16 shooting, Will Barton added 22 points and nine assists off the bench while Monte Morris chipped in with 20 points and seven assists. As a team, the Wizards shot 52 percent from the field and 19 of 39 from the 3-point line, but once again it was their lack of defense that was the problem as they were always on the back foot after allowing 38 points in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last seven games and they will be hoping to bounce back after having their three-game win streak halted by the Suns in a 111-95 loss on Thursday. Terance Mann led the way with 22 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, Brandon Boston Jr. added 16 points off the bench while Marcus Morris chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Clippers shot just 37 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line, but it was like they weren’t ready to compete as they came out flat and got outscored by 64-37 in a nightmare of a first half.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 16-33-3 ATS in their last 52 road games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. The Clippers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games against a team below .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 9-0 in the last nine meetings in Los Angeles, the Wizards are 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings in Los Angeles and the Wizards are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
The Wizards will be shorthanded once again as Rui Hachimura is still out while Bradley Beal is listed as questionable. The Clippers are still missing Ivica Zubac while Reggie Jackson and Paul George are both currently listed as questionable for this one. The Wizards haven’t been able to buy a win lately and they just allowed 141 points in a bad loss to the Nuggets, but the Clippers could be severely shorthanded in this one. Be sure to check the lineups before tipoff, but assuming that the Clippers have at least Jackson or George, I’ll side with the Clippers at home in this spot.
