The Dallas Mavericks and the Cleveland Cavaliers collide at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Saturday night.
The Dallas Mavericks have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their last eight games and they will be hoping to stay hot after routing the Trail Blazers in a 130-110 home win last night. Luka Doncic led the way with 33 points, six rebounds and nine assists, Christian Wood added 32 points with 12 rebounds on 11 of 17 shooting off the bench while Tim Hardaway Jr. chipped in with 17 points on seven of 10 shooting. As a team, the Mavericks shot 55 percent from the field and 18 of 43 from the 3-point line as they poured in 41 points in the second quarter to take control of the game, before they scored another 38 points in the third quarter to push the lead out to 27 points.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in decent shape as they’ve won six of their last nine games and they will be eager to stay hot after sneaking past the Pacers in a 118-112 home win last night. Donovan Mitchell led the way with 41 points on 14 of 24 shooting, Darius Garland added 20 points with 10 assists, Evan Mobley scored 16 points while Cedi Osman chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 50 percent from the field and 14 of 31 from the 3-point line as they struggled to contain the Pacers in the first half and fell behind by 13 points, before they closed the final 8:46 on a 28-9 run to pull off the impressive comeback win at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest, 2-7 ATS in their last nine road games and 6-18-2 ATS in their last 26 games overall. You can make an argument for either side here, but the Mavericks are only 2-7 ATS in their last nine road games, so I’ll lean towards the Cavaliers in a close one at home.
