The Sacramento Kings and the Toronto Raptors collide at the Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting routed by the 76ers in a 123-103 road loss last night. Domantas Sabonis led the team with 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, Malik Monk added 16 points off the bench while De’Aaron Fox chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Kings shot just 41 percent from the field and 10 of 42 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and were never in the contest after getting outscored by 80-55 in the first half. Davion Mitchell had a night to forget as he finished with just two points on one of eight shooting off the bench.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in rough shape as they’ve lost five of their last seven games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting routed by the lowly Magic in a 111-99 road loss on Sunday. Gary Trent Jr. led the way with 24 points on eight of 18 shooting, Fred VanVleet added 20 points with seven assists and four steals while Pascal Siakam chipped in with 19 points, six rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the Raptors shot just 40 percent from the field and six of 25 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and managed just 39 points in the first half to fall behind early. The Raptors made a bit of a run with 36 points in the third quarter, but they couldn’t get over the hump and eventually got blown out. Scottie Barnes had a rough night as he shot just three of 13 for his 11 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 15-7-1 ATS in their last 23 road games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days rest. The Raptors are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, 8-1 ATS in their last nine games playing on two days rest and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings overall and the Kings are 2-7-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
The Kings are again without Alex Len, while the Raptors are shorthanded again as Precious Achiuwa, Otto Porter Jr. and OG Anunoby are all out. The Kings come into this one as the team in better form, but they are playing this one on zero days rest after getting blown out by the 76ers last night. The Raptors are coming off a bad loss to the Magic, but they should be well-rested as they haven’t played since Sunday, so I’ll back them to come out firing and earn the much-needed victory at home.
