The Miami Heat travel to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse to take on the Indiana Pacers on Monday night.
The Miami Heat have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost three of their past four games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting dropped by the struggling Spurs in a 115-111 loss on Saturday. Jimmy Butler led the team with 30 points on 11 of 16 shooting, Tyler Herro added 23 points with five rebounds and five assists while Bam Adebayo tallied 12 points with nine rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Heat shot 48 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line as they had to work hard to just keep pace with the Spurs until they went scoreless in the final 1:35 to allow the Spurs to slip away in the end. Dewayne Dedmon had a night to forget as he finished with just two points on one of eight shooting.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in a slump as they’ve lost five of their past seven games and they will be eager to get back in the win column after falling just short to the Nets in a 136-133 loss on Saturday. Tyrese Haliburton led the way with 35 points and nine assists on 12 of 15 shooting, Buddy Hield added 17 points while Myles Turner chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 55 percent from the field and a sizzling 21 of 44 from the 3-point line as they poured in 38 points in the second quarter to build a 14-point lead, only to get run down in the fourth quarter where they allowed the Nets to score 41 points to steal the game from them.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. The Pacers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games, 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings overall and the under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Indiana.
The Heat have listed Victor Oladipo and Dewayne Dedmon as questionable, while the Pacers have ruled out Chris Duarte. The Heat aren’t coming into this meeting with much momentum, but they’ve actually been doing better than the Pacers who have lost five of their last seven. It’s tempting to take the Heat at the short line, but the Heat are only 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a winning record, while the Pacers are a solid 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games. This should be a close one, but I’ll stick with the Pacers to get the win at home.
