Brooklyn Nets at Washington Wizards - 12/12/22 NBA Picks and Prediction

The Brooklyn Nets invade the Capital One Arena to take on the Washington Wizards on Monday night.

The Brooklyn Nets have been in great shape as they’ve won seven of their last eight games and they will be eager to build on their three-game win streak after sneaking past the Pacers in a 136-133 road win on Saturday. Cam Thomas led the way with 33 points on 13 of 20 shooting off the bench, Patty Mills added 24 points with six assists, Edmond Sumner scored 21 points while Dayron Sharpe chipped in with 20 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Nets shot 52 percent from the field and nine of 28 from the 3-point line as they fell into early trouble and trailed by as many as 14 points, before they rallied with 41 points in the fourth quarter to escape with the narrow win despite missing key players Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Joe Harris and Seth Curry.

Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in a major slump as they’ve lost nine of their last 10 games and they will be hoping to put a halt to a six-game slide after falling short to the Clippers in a 114-107 loss on Saturday. Kyle Kuzma led the team with 35 points, 12 rebounds and three assists, Kristaps Porzingis added 30 points with 15 rebounds and five assists while Jordan Goodwin chipped in with 17 points, six assists and six steals. As a team, the Wizards shot 43 percent from the field and 16 of 34 from the 3-point line as they poured in 63 points in the first half to take the narrow lead into halftime, but they got next to no support from their bench and didn’t have enough to get over the line despite a big night from Kuzma. The Wizards’ bench combined for just seven points and Corey Kispert had a rough night of just seven points on three of 11 shooting.
