The Orlando Magic play host to the Toronto Raptors once again at the Amway Center on Sunday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in decent form as they’ve split their last eight games, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after falling just short to the lowly Magic in a 113-109 road loss on Friday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 36 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, Gary Trent Jr. added 20 points off the bench while Fred VanVleet chipped in with 10 points and six assists. As a team, the Raptors shot just 42 percent from the field and 10 of 35 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start, leaking 37 points in the first quarter to fall behind by as many as 20 points before they rallied in the fourth quarter only to come up short.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic look to have moved on from their nine-game skid as they are now aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Raptors on Friday. Franz Wagner led the team with 34 points on 12 of 15 shooting, Paolo Banchero added 23 points, six rebounds and four assists while Cole Anthony chipped in with 18 points and five assists off the bench. As a team, the Magic shot a sizzling 59 percent from the field and 10 of 26 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Raptors with 37 points in the first quarter to build an early 20-point lead which proved to be just enough in the end as the Raptors rallied to make it interesting late.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 1-7 ATS in their last eight road games, 2-7 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 Sunday games. The Magic are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games against a team with a losing road record and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games following a win.
Head to head, the under is 17-5 in the last 22 meetings in Orlando, the Raptors are 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall and the Raptors are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Orlando.
The Raptors could be shorthanded again as Otto Porter Jr is still out and OG Anunoby is listed as questionable. The Magic have injuries of their own as Chuma Okeke, Gary Harris and Jalen Suggs are all ruled out again. The Raptors have had mixed results in their last few games as they’ve been quality teams but they could easily lose a second straight game to the Magic if they come out with the same lack of urgency they showed on Friday. The Raptors simply need this win much more than the Magic and they are 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings overall, so I’ll back the Raptors to bounce back here.
