The New York Knicks play host to the Sacramento Kings at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been on a nice run as they’ve won four of their past five games and they will be hoping to stay hot after routing the Cavaliers in a 106-95 road win on Friday. Harrison Barnes led the team with 20 points, Kevin Huerter added 19 points while Domantas Sabonis tallied 18 points with 18 rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Kings shot 53 percent from the field and 16 of 33 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 13-point lead, before they came back and dominated the fourth quarter by 27-15 to win comfortably in the end.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past six games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after routing the Hornets in a 121-102 road win on Friday. Julius Randle led the way with 33 points on nine of 21 shooting, RJ Barrett added 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Jalen Brunson tallied 11 points with 11 assists. As a team, the Knicks shot 44 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Hornets in a tight contest in the first half, before they exploded for 34 points in the third quarter to push the lead out to 26 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 15-6-1 ATS in their last 22 road games, 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games following a win and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Knicks are 7-18-2 ATS in their last 27 home games, 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the under is 11-3 in the last 14 meetings overall and the Kings are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Kings could be shorthanded in this one as De’Aaron Fox, Terence Davis and Keegan Murray are all questionable, while the Knicks have ruled out Obi Toppin and Ryan Arcidiacono. The Kings come into this game as the team in better shape and they just took down the Cavaliers in a solid road win on Friday, but it’s going to be tough if they don’t have Fox or Murray in the lineup. The Knicks are starting to heat up again with three straight wins and they made light work of the lowly Hornets in their last game. It’s tough to split these two teams, but the Kings have been a surprise team this season and I think they can stay hot with another upset win here.
