The Washington Wizards travel to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse to take on the Indiana Pacers on Friday night.
The Washington Wizards have been in a slump as they’ve lost seven of their past eight games and they will be hoping to arrest a four-game slide after falling just short to the Bulls in a 115-111 road loss on Wednesday. Kristaps Porzingis led the team with 28 points, nine rebounds and four assists, Kyle Kuzma added 21 points while Monte Morris chipped in with 17 points and eight assists. As a team, the Wizards shot 48 percent from the field and nine of 31 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 11-point lead, before they closed the final 5:49 on a 22-15 run to snatch the game from the Wizards in a tight finish.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in poor form as they’ve lost six of their last nine games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting stopped by the Timberwolves in a 121-1115 road loss on Wednesday. Buddy Hield led the team in scoring with 26 points on nine of 15 shooting, Tyrese Haliburton added 26 points with 15 assists while Myles Turner scored 23 points with seven rebounds and four blocks. As a team, the Pacers shot 48 percent from the field and 19 of 42 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 44 points in the second quarter to overcome an early 23-point lead, only to see their hard work go down the drain in the fourth quarter where they allowed the Timberwolves to pour in 31 points to slip away in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 1-3-2 ATS in their last six road games, 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 2-7-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Pacers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-2 in the last nine meetings overall and the Wizards are 1-5-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Indiana.
The Wizards are shorthanded again as Bradley Beal and Rui Hachimura are still out while Kristaps Porzingis is questionable and the Pacers are keeping an eye on Myles Turner and Isaiah Jackson who are both questionable. The Pacers have been well below their best lately, but they have all their key players available and should be good enough to beat this banged up Wizards team at home.
