The Detroit Pistons pay a visit to the FTX Arena to do battle with the Miami Heat on Tuesday night.
The Detroit Pistons have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last five games and they will be eager to bounce back after falling short to the Grizzlies in a 122-112 home loss on Sunday. Saddiq Bey led the team in scoring with 24 points and seven assists off the bench, Bojan Bogdanovic added 18 points while Killian Hayes chipped in with 13 points and six assists. As a team, the Pistons shot 44 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line, but they made plenty of mistakes on the defensive end to start the game and they were always trailing after leaking 40 points in the first quarter. The Pistons trailed in this one by as many as 22 points in the third quarter before going on a late rally to keep the final scores respectable.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their past six games, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after falling short to the Grizzlies in a 101-93 road loss last night. Tyler Herro led the team with 23 points, 13 rebounds and five assists, Jimmy Butler added 18 points with eight assists, Caleb Martin scored 16 points while Bam Adebayo tallied 15 points with five rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Heat shot just 39 percent from the field and 14 of 40 from the 3-point line as they poured in 32 points in the first quarter to take an early 11-point lead, but they allowed the Grizzlies back into the contest which cost them in the fourth quarter where they scored just 16 points to allow the Grizzlies to slip away in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games, 5-1-2 ATS in their last eight games playing on one days rest and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Heat are 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 home games, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games playing on zero days rest and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Miami, the Pistons are 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings in Miami and the Pistons are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
The Pistons haven’t been able to get anything going over their past five games or so, while the Heat were on a nice run before getting stopped by the Grizzlies last night. The line is quite hefty for this one, especially because the Heat are playing on zero days’ rest, so while I like the Heat to get the win, I’m sticking with the Pistons at the line as they are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
