The Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors duke it out at Scotiabank Arena on Monday night.
The Boston Celtics have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 15 of their last 17 games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Nets in a 103-92 road win last night. Jalen Brown led the team with 34 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, Jayson Tatum added 29 points with 11 rebounds and four steals while Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 13 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. As a team, the Celtics shot just 43 percent from the field and 15 of 38 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and poured in 35 points in the first quarter to build a 16-point lead, but they never put the Nets away and had to rally late after scoring just 13 points in the third quarter. Derrick White had a night to forget as he finished with just three points on one of seven shooting.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost four of their last seven games, but they will be hoping to build some momentum after snapping a two-game skid with a 121-108 blowout win over the Magic on Saturday. OG Anunoby matched a season-high with 32 points on 12 of 17 shooting, Pascal Siakam added 26 points with eight rebounds and 10 assists while Scottie Barnes tallied 17 points with 14 rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Raptors shot a healthy 56 percent from the field and nine of 29 from the 3-point line as they dominated this one right from the start and led by as many as 33 points in the third quarter, before the Magic made a late rally to keep the final scores somewhat respectable.
Looking at the betting trends, the Celtics are 21-9-1 ATS in their last 31 road games, 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a wining record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest. The Raptors are 38-17 ATS in their last 55 games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games.
Head to head, the under is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings overall, the Celtics are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings overall and the Celtics are 9-0 ATS in the last nine meetings in Toronto.
The Celtics will again be missing Robert Williams and Marcus Smart, while the Raptors have ruled out Otto Porter Jr and Juancho Hernangomez. The Celtics are coming into this one as the hottest team in the league and they just beat the Nets who were on a nice run, while the Raptors broke out of a mini slump with an easy win over the hapless Magic on Saturday. The Celtics are playing this one on zero days’ rest, but they are a dominant 9-0 ATS in the last nine meetings in Toronto which is just too much to ignore. Give me the Celtics to stay hot with another win here.
