The Memphis Grizzlies and the Detroit Pistons collide at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their last seven games and they will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the 76ers in a 117-109 win on Friday. Ja Morant led the team with 28 points, Jaren Jackson Jr added 22 points with nine rebounds and four blocks while Dillon Brooks chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 43 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they poured in 35 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime which ballooned to 18 points in the third quarter where they held the 76ers to just 22 points.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons were struggling for most of the season, but they’ve come to life with three wins in their last six games and they will be hoping to stay hot after sneaking past the Mavericks in a 131-125 overtime win on Thursday. Bojan Bogdanovic led the team with 30 points on 10 of 14 shooting, Killian Hayes added 22 points with eight assists while Marvin Bagley chipped in with 19 points and 13 rebounds. As a team, the Pistons shot 54 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line as they squandered a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter to allow the Mavericks to extend the game, but they kept their composure and snuck away in overtime to snap a three-game skid.
Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record. The Pistons are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Grizzlies are 20-7 ATS in the last 27 meetings overall and the Grizzlies are 16-5 ATS in the last 21 meetings in Detroit.
The Grizzlies will again be without Desmond Bane and Steven Adams is listed as questionable, while the Pistons will be missing Cade Cunningham and Isaiah Livers once again. The Grizzlies come into this one as the team in better form and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their win over the 76ers, but the Pistons are a dangerous team at the moment as the Mavericks found out on Thursday. I expect the Pistons to hang tough for most of the contest, but in the end, I have the Grizzlies pulling away for the win and cover.
