The Milwaukee Bucks and the Charlotte Hornets duke it out at the Spectrum Center on Saturday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last eight games, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after having their three-game win streak halted by the Lakers in a 133-129 loss last night. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 40 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Jrue Holiday added 28 points, six rebounds and nine assists while Khris Middleton chipped in with 17 points and seven assists. As a team, the Bucks shot 53 percent from the field and 17 of 43 from the 3-point line as they clawed their way back from a 14-point deficit to take the lead in the fourth quarter, but they got outscored by 15-9 in the final 4:44 to allow the Lakers to slip away in a close one.
Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past four games and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Wizards in a 117-116 home win last night. Terry Rozier led the team with 25 points and eight assists, Kelly Oubre Jr added 22 points, PJ Washington scored 21 points with five assists while Mason Plumlee chipped in with 17 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Hornets shot 42 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates and dominated the offensive boards to finish with 74 points in the first half. The Hornets controlled most of the game to lead by as many as 22 points, but in the end it was all about defense as they held the Wizards scoreless in the final 2:29 to escape with the narrow victory.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days rest. The Hornets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games playing on zero days’ rest.
Head to head, the under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Charlotte, the Bucks are 1-9 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Charlotte and the Bucks are 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.
The Bucks will be missing Serge Ibaka due to an illness, while the Hornets are still without Dennis Smith Jr, LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward. The Bucks were on a nice run before they got stopped by the Lakers last night in a game that really could’ve gone either way. The Hornets were ice-cold for a while there, but they’ve come to life with three wins in their last four and they would love another upset win here. The Bucks are only 1-9 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Charlotte, but with the line so short, I’ll stick with the Bucks to get back into the win column here.
