The Miami Heat invade the TD Garden to battle the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
The Miami Heat have been in decent form as they’ve won six of their last 10 games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after taking down the Hawks in a 106-98 road win on Sunday. Bam Adebayo led the team with 32 points on 13 of 20 shooting, Caleb Martin added 20 points with nine rebounds and four assists while Tyler Herro tallied a triple-double of 11 points with 11 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Heat shot 48 percent from the field and nine of 33 from the 3-point line as they struggled in the first half and trailed by as many as 11 points, but they flipped the script in the second half where they held the Hawks to just 38 points to run them down in the end.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have been the hottest team in the league as they’ve won 13 of their last 14 games and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after blowing out the Hornets in a 140-105 home win on Monday. Jayson Tatum led the team with 35 points on 15 of 28 shooting, Marcus Smart added 22 points with 15 assists, Malcolm Brogdon added 21 points off the bench while Derrick White chipped in with 15 points and six assists. As a team, the Celtics shot a sizzling 59 percent from the field and 24 of 52 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start and never looked in trouble after outscoring the Hornets by an incredible 45-19 in the first quarter.
Looking at the betting trends, the Heat are 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 games following a win, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a winning record and 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games overall. The Celtics are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record, 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Heat are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Heat are 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Boston.
The Heat have a long list of players on the injury report including Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, Gabe Vincent, Caleb Martin, Tyler Herro and Dewayne Dedmon who are all questionable. The Celtics are coming into this one almost at full strength except for Robert Williams who is out and Jaylen Brown who is questionable. The Heat have done well to keep their heads above water despite all the injuries, but it’ll be tough to hang against the hottest team in the league. The Celtics are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and I think that trend continues here.
