The Minnesota Timberwolves play host to the Golden State Warriors at the Target Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Golden State Warriors have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their last five games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after beating the Jazz in a 129-118 home win on Friday. Stephen Curry led the way with 33 points on 13 of 23 shooting, Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson each scored 20 points while Jordan Poole chipped in with 19 points and six assists off the bench. As a team, the Warriors shot 51 percent from the field and 20 of 45 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter to open an early double-digit lead which ballooned to 19 points in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in decent shape as they were riding a five-game win streak before getting stopped in their tracks by the Hornets in a 110-108 road loss on Friday. Anthony Edwards led the team with 25 points, five rebounds and four assists, D’Angelo Russell added 20 points with 10 assists while Karl-Anthony Towns chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Timberwolves shot just 42 percent from the field and nine of 41 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half to build a 13-point lead, but they took their foot off the gas and got burned by 39-21 in the third quarter to allow the Hornets to slip away in a close finish.

Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 road games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win and 0-4 ATS in their last four Sunday games. The Timberwolves are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 13-4 ATS in their last 17 Sunday games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall.

Head to head, the over is 7-0 in the last seven meetings overall and the Warriors are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Minnesota.

The Warriors look to have moved on from their early season struggles as they are now on a bit of a roll with four wins in their last five outings. The Timberwolves were on a nice run of their own as they were riding a five-game win streak before they lost disappointingly to the lowly Hornets in their last outing. This should be a close contest that could go either way, but with the line so short, I’ll stick with the more reliable Warriors to maintain their momentum with a narrow win and cover here.
