The Chicago Bulls play host to the Boston Celtics at the United Center on Monday night.
The Boston Celtics have been on fire as they are now aiming for a 10th straight victory after taking down the Pelicans in a 117-109 road win on Friday. Jaylen Brown led the way with 27 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, Derrick White added 26 points on nine of 12 shooting while Jayson Tatum tallied 19 points with seven rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Celtics shot 48 percent from the field and a sizzling 20 of 46 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 40 points in the first quarter to build an early 19-point lead which proved to be more than enough in the end as they were hardly challenged in the second half.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have really been struggling as they’ve lost six of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a four-game slide after falling just short to the Magic in a 108-107 loss on Friday. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 41 points on 16 of 30 shooting but he just didn’t get enough support as Nikola Vucevic scored just 14 points while Ayo Dosunmu chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Bulls shot 46 percent from the field and just five of 21 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to climb back from a 19-point deficit to take the lead in the final seconds, but Vucevic missed a pair of crucial free throws which allowed the Magic to steal the game on shot from Jalen Suggs with just 5.0 seconds remaining.
Looking at the betting trends, the Celtics are 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Bulls are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the under is 20-7 in the last 27 meetings in Chicago and the Celtics are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
The Celtics are still missing Danilo Gallinari and Robert Williams, while the Bulls are still missing Lonzo Ball who remains without a timetable for his return. The Celtics are coming into this game as the hottest team in the league right now, while the Bulls have been ice-cold and just loss to the slumping Magic in a poor loss on Friday. The Celtics are 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 road games and I think that trend continues here as they escape with the win and cover.
