The Indiana Pacers play host to the Denver Nuggets at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
The Denver Nuggets have been in great shape as they’ve won five of their past six games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after beating the Spurs in a 115-109 road win on Monday. Nikola Jokic led the team with 26 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists, Michael Porter Jr. added 24 points on nine of 16 shooting while Jamal Murray chipped in with 19 points and six assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 53 percent from the field and eight of 24 from the 3-point line which is normally enough to win comfortably, but they committed a total of 20 turnovers while forcing the Spurs into 24 turnovers.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past five games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Pelicans in a 129-122 win on Monday. Myles Turner led the way with 37 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks, Tyrese Haliburton scored 20 points with 13 assists, Buddy Hield scored 20 points on six of 16 shooting while Jalen Smith and Andrew Nembhard each scored 15 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 50 percent from the field and a sizzling 22 of 48 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 42 points in the third quarter to build an 18-point lead, which proved to be just enough in the end as the Pelicans rallied late.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games following a win and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Pacers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings overall and the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Indiana.
The Nuggets will be shorthanded again as Ish Smith and Zeke Nnaji are both listed as doubtful, while the Pacers will be without Daniel Theis and Aaron Nesmith. The Pacers are starting to heat up and they just took down the Pelicans thanks to a big game from Turner, but the Nuggets have been the more consistent side and I think they can stay hot with another win and cover on the road.
