The Miami Heat play host to the Portland Trail Blazers at the FTX Arena on Monday night.

The Portland Trail Blazers have been in surprisingly good form as they’ve won six of their first nine games, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting scorched by the Suns in a 102-82 road loss on Saturday. Jerami Grant led the team in scoring with just 14 points while Shaedon Sharpe scored 13 points, but no other player finished in double figures. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot just 38 percent from the field and seven of 15 from the 3-point line as they struggled to match the intensity of the Suns from the start and were never in the contest after falling behind by 21 points going into halftime. Justise Winslow scored just five points on two of nine shooting while Josh Hart scored just four points on one of six shooting.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been searching for form as they’ve lost six of their first 10 games overall and they will be looking to get back in the win column after falling just short to the Pacers in a 101-99 road loss on Friday. Tyler Herro led the way with 29 points and five assists, Bam Adebayo added 18 points with 10 rebounds and four assists while Max Strus chipped in with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Heat shot just 38 percent from the field and 11 of 39 from the 3-point line as they held the Pacers to just 18 points in the third quarter to rally back from a 12-point deficit, only to fall just short as Herro missed the potential game-winner with the clock expiring.

Looking at the betting trends, the Trail Blazers are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall. The Heat are 1-8 ATS in their last nine home games, 0-6 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall.

Head to head, the over is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings in Miami and the Trail Blazers are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings overall.

The Trail Blazers will again be without Anfernee Simons while Josh Hart and Damian Lillard are both listed as questionable. The Heat are still missing Victor Oladipo while Tyler Herro is now listed as questionable due to a left ankle sprain. So much of the result depends on the Trail Blazers’ injuries as they’re stretched so thin when Lillard sits out. The Heat have the advantage of extra rest as they haven’t played since Friday, but they’ve struggled to get out second gear and I don’t feel comfortable laying this many points just yet. Give me the Trail Blazers to keep this one close and get the cover in the end.
