The Sacramento Kings and the Orlando Magic collide at the Amway Center on Saturday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their first seven games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling just short to the Heat in a heartbreaking 110-107 road loss on Wednesday. Domantas Sabonis racked up 22 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, Kevin Huerter added 22 points on nine of 17 shooting while Malik Monk chipped in with 19 points and seven assists. As a team, the Kings shot 47 percent from the field and 13 of 36 from the 3-point line as they took it to the Heat and kept pace with them all the way until the final seconds where the Heat escaped on a clutch 3-pointer from Tyler Herro which should’ve been called a travel on review.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have been in a slump as they’ve lost seven of their first nine games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum after taking down the Warriors in a 130-129 home win on Thursday. Jalen Suggs led the way with 26 points, nine assists and four steals, Paolo Banchero added 22 points with eight rebounds and three assists while Franz Wagner chipped in with 19 points. as a team, the Magic shot 53 percent from the field and 13 of 30 from the 3-point line as they struggled in the first half and trailed by as many as 16 points, before they flipped the script and exploded for 77 points in the second half to steal the unlikely victory.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 road games, 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team below .400 and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Magic are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record, 5-0 ATS in their last five home games and 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games playing on one days’ rest.
Head to head, the over is 6-0 in the last six meetings overall, the Kings are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and the Kings are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Orlando.
The Kings are could be shorthanded for this one as De’Aaron Fox is currently listed as questionable with a knee injury, while the Magic are missing Cole Anthony, Moritz Wagner, Gary Harris and possibly Terrence Ross. The Kings have been cold to start the season, but they almost pulled off the upset against the Heat in their last outing, so they will like their chances against a depleted Magic outfit. However, the Magic are coming into this one fresh off their best win of the season and I think they can keep it going in this one behind another big game from their backcourt.
