The Golden State Warriors and the Detroit Pistons collide at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday night.
The Golden State Warriors are searching for consistency as they’ve split their first six games and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling to the shorthanded Hornets in a 120-113 overtime road loss last night. Stephen Curry led the way with 31 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, Jordan Poole added 24 points on 10 of 20 shooting off the bench while Draymond Green tallied 12 points with eight rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 44 percent from the field and 13 of 44 from the 3-point line as they clawed their way back from a 15-point deficit to force overtime, but that’s where they went ice-cold as they managed just six points in the extra period to allow the Hornets to slip away.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons will be hoping to put a halt to an ugly five-game slide after getting thrashed by the Hawks in a 136-112 loss on Friday. Cade Cunningham led the way with 35 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, Bojan Bogdanovic added 22 points while Isaiah Stewart chipped in with 17 points and eight rebounds. As a team, the Pistons shot 43 percent from the field and seven of 32 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 38 points in the second quarter to stay within striking distance, only to get blown out by 67-45 in the second half.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record. The Pistons are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings in Detroit and the Warriors are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
The Warriors have yet to win consecutive games this season as Curry has been the only consistent performer so far, while the Pistons are one of the coldest teams in the league and it doesn’t look like their losing streak is going to end anytime soon, at least not in this game. The Warriors are clearly the better team, they are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall and they need this win to get their season back on track after a tough loss last night.
