The Indiana Pacers travel to the Barclays Center to battle the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night.
The Indiana Pacers have had a rough start to the season as they’ve lost four of their first six games, but they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Wizards in a 127-117 road win last night. Myles Turner led the way with 27 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks, Tyrese Haliburton tallied 25 points with 12 assists while Buddy Hield scored 25 points on 10 of 17 shooting. As a team, the Pacers shot 50 percent from the field and 15 of 28 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Wizards right from the start and were always in control after exploding for 75 points in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in a major rut as they’ve lost four of their first five games overall and they will be hoping to snap a three-game slide after falling to the Mavericks in a 129-125 overtime loss on Thursday. Kyrie Irving led the way with 39 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four blocks, Kevin Durant added 37 points and five assists while Royce O’Neale chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Nets shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 35 from the 3-point line wrestled with the Mavericks in a close contest all the way until the overtime period where the Mavericks opened with a decisive 12-2 run to pull away and steal the game late.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 17-6 ATS in their last 23 games playing on zero days’ rest, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Nets are 15-35-1 ATS in their last 51 home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 1-7 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Brooklyn, the Pacers are 13-6 ATS in the last 19 meetings overall and the Pacers are 18-6 ATS in the last 24 meetings in Brooklyn.
The Pacers are a little shorthanded again as Daniel Theis is still out while the Nets are keeping an eye on Seth Curry who is currently listed as questionable for this one. The Pacers were really struggling before last night’s impressive road win over the Wizards, but now they’re running into a talented Nets team who are coming of a tough overtime loss. It’s hard to see the Pacers getting the win on zero days’ rest, but the Nets are still well below their best and this line just seems too hefty.
