The Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors do battle once again at the Scotiabank Arena on Friday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been a mess so far this season as they’ve lost four of their first five games and they will be looking for revenge after getting routed by the Raptors in a 119-109 road loss on Wednesday. Joel Embiid led the way with 31 points on 12 of 17 shooting, Tyrese Maxey added 31 points with six assists while James Harden tallied 18 points with seven rebounds and nine assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 50 percent from the field and 16 of 36 from the 3-point line, but their defense left a lot to be desired as they were always fighting an uphill battle after leaking 35 points in the first quarter. The 76ers just got next to nothing from their bench players while Tobias Harris finished with just three points on one of five shooting.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in decent form with three wins in their first five games and they will be looking to build some momentum after beating the 76ers on Wednesday. Gary Trent Jr. led the way with 27 points on 11 of 16 shooting, Pascal Siakam added 20 points with 13 assists, Scottie Barnes tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while Fred VanVleet chipped in with 15 points and eight assists. As a team, the Raptors shot 54 percent from the field and 10 of 37 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and never let off. It was a real balanced offense in this one as the Raptors had six players finish in double figures in scoring.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 3-14-1 ATS in their last 18 road games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Raptors are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 home games against a team with a road record below .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the 76ers are 6-16 ATS in the last 22 meetings in Toronto.
The 76ers will be out for revenge against the Raptors after getting beaten on Wednesday, but they've really struggled so far this season, so it's hard to be too confident about their chances. The Raptors have looked like a more settled unit so far and they should be able to get another win over the 76ers while they're still trying to find their feet.
