The Indiana Pacers invade the Capital One Arena to battle the Washington Wizards on Friday night.

The Indiana Pacers have struggled so far as they’ve lost four of their first five games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting thrashed by the Bulls in a 124-109 road loss on Wednesday. Buddy Hield led the team in scoring with 25 points on eight of 16 shooting, Tyrese Haliburton added 17 points with 11 assists while Jalen Smith and Benedict Mathurin each scored 15 points. As a team, the Pacers shot just 43 percent from the field and 16 of 40 from the 3-point line, but their defense was the problem as they were never really in the contest after allowing 76 points in the first half. The Pacers actually trailed on Wednesday by as many as 24 points against the shorthanded Bulls before a run in the third quarter kept the scores respectable.

Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in fine form as they’ve won three of their first four games and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Pistons in a 120-99 home win on Tuesday. Kyle Kuzma led the way with 25 points on nine of 17 shooting, Kristaps Porzingis added 20 points while Will Barton chipped in with 16 points on six of nine shooting off the bench. As a team, the Wizards shot 51 percent from the field and 10 of 33 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Pistons in a tight contest until the fourth quarter where they exploded for 35 points to make it a complete blowout in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Wizards are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games, 9-25-1 ATS in their last 35 games against a team with a losing record and 6-21-1 ATS in their last 28 games following a win.

Head to head, the over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings overall, the Pacers are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Washington and the Pacers are 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.

The Pacers have yet to find any consistent success so far and their confidence took another hit after getting dismantled by the Bulls on Wednesday. The Wizards have hit the ground running and they've been doing it without having to rely on Beal to score all their points. The Pacers are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Washington and I think that trend continues here.
