The Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks meet Tuesday in game 4 of the NBA Western Conference Finals at the American Airlines Center. The Golden State Warriors can make the NBA Finals for the sixth time in the last eight years. The Dallas Mavericks need a win to save their season and force a game 5 on Thursday.
The Golden State Warriors are averaging 114.5 points on 49.3 percent shooting and allowing 108.3 points on 43.6 percent shooting. Stephen Curry is averaging 27.1 points and 5.9 assists, while Klay Thompson is averaging 19.5 points and 4.6 rebounds. Jordan Poole is the third double-digit scorer and Andrew Wiggins is grabbing 6.9 rebounds. The Golden State Warriors are shooting 37.9 percent from beyond the arc and 75.1 percent from the free throw line. The Golden State Warriors are allowing 35.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.5 rebounds per game.
The Dallas Mavericks are averaging 105.3 points on 44.5 percent shooting and allowing 104.5 points on 47.4 percent shooting. Luka Doncic is averaging 32.1 points and 6.2 assists, while Jalen Brunson is averaging 22.7 points and 4.8 rebounds. Spencer Dinwiddie is the third double-digit scorer and Dorian Finney-Smith is grabbing 5.6 rebounds. The Dallas Mavericks are shooting 37.3 percent from beyond the arc and 77.2 percent from the free throw line. The Dallas Mavericks are allowing 34.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 36.1 rebounds per game.
The Warriors are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games as an underdog and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Mavericks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games. The over is 5-2 in Warriors last 7 road games. The under is 6-2 in Mavericks last 8 overall. The over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings in Dallas and 13-6 in the last 19 meetings.
The start of this game will be very important, as we could easily see the Dallas Mavericks press and fold like a beach chair if they get off to a slow start. However, the Mavs have still played their best ball at home, and they had their chances in game 3 despite not being able to buy an outside shot. The Golden State Warriors didn't exactly light the world on fire in game 3, and they've still failed to cover four of their last five on the road. The Mavs can at least win this game to avoid the sweep. At least I hope they can because if they don't, we'll have very little basketball for the next week and a half. Give me the Mavericks, but I'm iffy with the pick overall.
