The Utah Jazz play host to the Dallas Mavericks in a pivotal Game 4 at the Vivint Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Dallas Mavericks will be aiming to take a commanding 3-1 series lead after taking down the Jazz in a 126-118 road win in Game 3 on Thursday. Jalen Brunson led the team with 31 points and five assists on 12 of 22 shooting, Spencer Dinwiddie added 20 points with six assists, Maxi Kleber scored 17 points while Dorian Finney-Smith tallied 14 points with eight rebounds and four steals. As a team, the Mavericks shot 49 percent from the field and 18 of 42 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Jazz and held them to just 20 points in the first quarter to take the early lead before they exploded for 41 points in the second quarter to lead by as many as 17 points which proved to be enough in the end. Dinwiddie had a night to forget as he shot just six of 21 from the field before fouling out.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz are in desperate need of a win as they’ve now dropped two in a row against a shorthanded Mavericks team missing their best player. In the loss in Game 3, Donovan Mitchell led the team with 32 points and six assists, Bojan Bogdanovic added 24 points while Mike Conley chipped in with 21 points and six assists. As a team, the Jazz shot a healthy 56 percent from the field, but just nine of 28 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and were always fighting an uphill battle after falling behind by 17 points early. Mitchell had a rough night as he shot just one of eight from the 3-point line and that was the story of the night as the Jazz were outscored at the 3-point line by 54-27.

Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games as an underdog and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Jazz are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five home games, 6-19-2 ATS in their last 27 games against a team with a winning record and 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall and the Mavericks are 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.

The Mavericks hold all the momentum in the series and they’ve been able to do it without the services of Luka Doncic who is currently a game-time decision for Game 4. The Jazz have had every opportunity to take the lead in this series while the Mavericks were still shorthanded, but they allowed the Mavericks off to a flyer in Game 3 which had them reeling the entire game. Be sure to keep an eye of the status of Doncic for this one just before tipoff, but as it stands, I’m sticking with the Mavericks with the points in what should be a close one that goes down to the wire.
