The Atlanta Hawks and the Miami Heat collide in a pivotal Game 2 at the FTX Arena on Tuesday night.

The Atlanta Hawks will hoping for a better performance after getting blown out of the water by the Heat in a 115-91 loss in Game 1. Danilo Gallinari led the team in scoring with 17 points, DeAndre Hunter added 14 points while John Collins and Kevin Knox each scored 10 points but no one else finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Hawks shot just 38 percent from the field and 10 of 36 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sluggish start and never looked threatening after falling behind by 19 points at halftime and by as many as 32 points in the third quarter. Trae Young had a night to forget as he managed just eight points on one of 12 shooting from the field and zero of seven from the 3-point line, while Bogdan Bogdanovic scored just six points on zero of eight shooting.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat will be gunning for a 2-0 series lead after making light work of the Hawks in Game 1. Duncan Robinson drained eight 3-pointers to lead the team with 27 points on nine of 10 shooting off the bench, Jimmy Butler added 21 points with six rebounds, four assists and three steals while PJ Tucker chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Heat shot 52 percent from the field and 18 of 38 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with their defense, holding the Hawks to just 17 points in the first quarter before they exploded for 36 points in the second quarter to take an unassailable lead. The only real blemish from the dominant win was Tyler Herro who scored just six points on three of 11 shooting off the bench.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 6-16 ATS in their last 22 road games, 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games as an underdog and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Heat are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Head to head, the under is 24-8 in the last 32 meetings in Miami, the Hawks are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings in Miami and the Hawks are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.

The Hawks will be without Lou Williams and Clint Capela for this one, while the Heat have listed Bam Adebayo, Dewayne Dedmon, Markieff Morris and PJ Tucker as questionable. The Hawks need to bounce back with a win here to have any chance at winning this series and they’ll surely get a better performance from Young who was terrible in Game 1, but the loss of Capela is massive and they just don’t have the troops to hang with the Heat who are especially tough to beat when Robinson gets hot like he did. The Hawks are only 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings in Miami and I think that trend continues here as the Heat go up 2-0 in the series.
