The Sacramento Kings invade the Crypto.com Arena to take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in decent shape lately as they’ve won four of their last seven games, but they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting routed by the Pelicans in a 123-109 loss on Tuesday. Damian Jones led the team with 22 points on eight of 10 shooting, Davion Mitchell tallied 15 points with 17 assists while Jeremy Lamb tallied 15 points with five rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Kings shot 51 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sluggish start and got outscored in every quarter as they had no answer for the balanced scoring of the Pelicans who had seven players finish in double figures in scoring.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in great shape as they’ve won four of their last five games and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Suns in a 113-109 home win on Wednesday. Norman Powell returned to the lineup to lead the way with 24 points on six of 10 shooting off the bench, Paul George added 19 points with nine rebounds and four assists while Ivica Zubac chipped in with 13 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. As a team, the Clippers shot 44 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they absolutely dominated the second quarter by 34-9 to build an early 39-point lead which proved to be just enough in the end as the Suns rallied with 48 points in the fourth quarter to make it interesting in the end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight road games, 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a loss of more than 10 points and 23-7 ATS in their last 30 games playing on three or more days’ rest. The Clippers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team below .400 and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Kings are 5-11 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall and the Kings are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Los Angeles.
The Kings will again be without Alex Len, Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox, while the Clippers are still without Kawhi Leonard. The Kings were playing some good basketball before dropping their last two games, but they’re going to do it tough against this improving Clippers team who just took down the red-hot Suns in their last outing. The line is a little hefty, but I’m sticking with the Clippers to continue their rise with another win and cover in this spot.
