The Detroit Pistons play host to the Milwaukee Bucks at Little Caesars Arena on Friday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in fine form as they’ve won eight of their past 12 games and they will be aiming for a third straight win after taking down the Celtics in a 127-121 victory last night. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 29 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, Jrue Holiday added 20 points with eight rebounds and eight assists, Khris Middleton scored 22 points with eight rebounds and nine assists while Brook Lopez chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Bucks shot 50 percent from the field and 14 of 38 from the 3-point line as they squandered a 13-point lead in the third quarter, but they didn’t panic and made up for it in the fourth quarter to escape with the narrow win.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in decent form as they were riding a three-game win streak before they got stopped in their tracks by the Mavericks in a 131-113 loss on Wednesday. Cade Cunningham led the team with 25 points, seven rebounds and nine assists, Isaiah Stewart added 19 points with 14 rebounds while Braxton Key chipped in with 14 points and three blocks off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot 42 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they fell behind in the second quarter and never looked threatening in the second half where they trailed by as many as 23 points at one stage. Saddiq Bey had a night to forget as he scored just seven points on one of 11 shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 road games, 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games playing on zero days’ rest and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Pistons are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall, the Bucks are 13-3-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings overall and the Bucks are 6-1-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Detroit.
The Bucks will be missing Grayson Allen once again, while the Pistons are still without Marvin Bagley and Jerami Grant. The Bucks are coming into this game with plenty of momentum and they shouldn’t have too much trouble in this matchup, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they rested a few starters given that they played just last night. This is a game I’d rather stay away from, but assuming that the Bucks don’t rest too many starters, I’ll stick with them to get the job done here.
