The Toronto Raptors play host to the Atlanta Hawks at the Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday night.
The Atlanta Hawks have been in great shape as they’ve won 10 of their last 13 games and they will be gunning for a sixth straight victory after taking down the Nets in a 122-115 home win on Saturday. Trae Young led the team with 36 points and 10 assists, DeAndre Hunter and Danilo Gallinari each scored 15 points while Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Hawks shot 41 percent from the field and 13 of 41 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game with a 37-20 second quarter to take a 15-point lead which proved to be just enough in the end as the Nets rallied behind a 55-point performance from Kevin Durant.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been on fire as they’ve won 11 of their last 14 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after having their five-game win streak halted by the Heat in a 114-109 loss on Sunday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 29 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Fred VanVleet added 29 points with seven assists while Scottie Barnes and Gary Trent Jr. each scored 19 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 42 percent from the field and 12 of 39 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Heat in the first half to take an early 13-point lead, but they couldn’t hold off the Heat in the second half where they leaked 69 points to see their win streak come to an end.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall. The Raptors are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games, 24-9 ATS in their last 33 games against a team with a winning record and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 7-2 in the last nine meetings overall and the Hawks are 4-11 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Toronto.
The Hawks could again be without Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari who are both questionable, while the Raptors have listed OG Anunoby as questionable for this one. The Hawks have really been in a groove lately and they would’ve taken so much confidence from their win over the Nets, while the Raptors have quietly been playing some of their best basketball of the season before they were stopped in their tracks by the Heat on Sunday. It’s hard to split these two teams, but the Hawks are 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall and I think they can keep that trend alive with an upset in this spot.
