The Philadelphia 76ers invade the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape as they’ve won six of their last 10 games and they will be hoping to stay hot after blowing past the Hornets in a 144-114 win last night. Joel Embiid led the team with 29 points, 14 rebounds and six assists, Tobias Harris added 23 points on eight of 13 shooting, Hanes Harden tallied 12 points with eight rebounds and 13 assists, while Tyrese Maxey chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the 76ers shot a sizzling 60 percent from the field and 21 of 43 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Hornets in a close contest, until the second half where they exploded for 86 points to make it look easy in the end.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in rough shape as they’ve lost five of their last seven games, but they will be eager to build some momentum after making light work of the Knicks in a 119-101 road win last night. Darius Garland led the team with 24 points and 13 assists, Caris LeVert added 19 points with six assists while Isaac Okoro and Moses Brown each scored 16 points. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 54 percent from the field and 15 of 34 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Knicks from the start and poured in 39 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, before they ran away with it in the third quarter where they pushed the margin out to 23 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days’ rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Cavaliers are 0-5 ATS in their last five home games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall and the under is 19-7 in the last 26 meetings in Cleveland.
The 76ers were in a bit of a rut before they blew past the Hornets in a dominant win last night, while the Cavaliers were really struggling before they took down the Knicks in a much-needed win. The 76ers are coming into this game as the team in better form and they are just about at full strength, so I’m backing them to get the win and cover in this one with the line so short.
