The Dallas Mavericks pay a visit to the Milwaukee Bucks at the Fiserv Forum on Sunday afternoon.
The Dallas Mavericks have been in great shape as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting embarrassed by the lowly Wizards in a 135-103 road loss on Friday. Luka Doncic led the team with 36 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Jalen Brunson added 21 points, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Mavericks shot just 43 percent from the field and 11 of 38 from the 3-point line, but the problem was their defense as they allowed an unforgivable 41 points in the first quarter and another 41 points in the fourth quarter. Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and Reggie Bullock each scored eight points while Maxi Kleber finished with just six points.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have been in terrific form as they’ve won 12 of their last 16 games overall, but they will be hoping for a better performance after getting blown of the floor by the Clippers in a 153-119 loss on Friday. Jordan Nwora led the team in scoring with 28 points on 10 of 16 shooting, Bobby Portis added 25 points with eight rebounds and three assists while Jevon Carter chipped in with 18 points and eight assists. As a team, the Bucks shot 53 percent from the field and eight of 25 from the 3-point line, but they weren’t at their usual standard on the defensive end and simply had no chance against a hot-shooting Clippers team who drained a total of 23 3-pointers to blow them away.
Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 4-0 ATS in their last four games as a road underdog, 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Bucks are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team above .600 and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 13-6 in the last 19 meetings in Milwaukee, the Mavericks are 13-3-2 ATS in the last 18 meetings overall and the Mavericks are 4-0-2 ATS in the last six meetings in Milwaukee.
The Mavericks were on a nice run before they fell to the lowly Wizards in a shock loss on Friday and you could say the same about the Bucks who were on fire before their massive loss to the Clippers. The Bucks should be bat at full strength after resting all they key players on Friday and they should be good enough to get the win and cover at home, behind a big game from Antetokounmpo.
