The Toronto Raptors pay a visit to the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center on Friday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in great shape as they’ve won 10 of their last 12 games overall and they will be aiming for a fifth straight win after routing the Timberwolves in a 125-102 home win on Wednesday. Gary Trent Jr. led the team with 29 points on nine of 13 shooting, OG Anunoby added 22 points while Scottie Barnes chipped in with 17 points on seven of nine shooting. As a team, the Raptors shot 50 percent from the field and 18 of 36 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 42 points in the second quarter to overcome an early 17-point deficit, before they ran away with it in the second half where they outscored the Timberwolves by 63-42 to win easily in the end.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have been in a slump as they’ve lost seven of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to snap a four-game slide after getting routed by the Wizards in a 127-110 road loss on Wednesday. Franz Wagner led the team with 28 points on 11 of 20 shooting, Markelle Fultz added 19 points with seven assists off the bench while Cole Anthony chipped in with 12 points, five rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Magic shot just 41 percent from the field and 11 of 33 from the 3-point line as they managed just 21 points in the second quarter to fall behind going into halftime, but they were able to hang in the contest until the fourth quarter where they allowed 41 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Magic are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the under is 14-3 in the last 17 meetings in Orlando, the Raptors are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and the Raptors are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Orlando.
The Raptors have listed Yuta Watanabe as questionable for this one, while the Magic have ruled out Jalen Suggs and they’ve listed Wendell Carter Jr. as questionable. The Raptors have quietly been one of the hottest teams in the league lately and they have plenty to play for as they are currently tied with the fifth-placed Bulls with just six games left to play. The line is a little hefty for a road team, but the Raptors are clearly the team in better form and with more to play for, so I’m taking the Raptors to get the job done here.
