The Indiana Pacers play host to the Denver Nuggets at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
The Denver Nuggets have been in decent form as they’ve won three of their last four games and they will be aiming for a third straight win after outlasting the Hornets in a 113-109 road win on Monday. Nikola Jokic led the team with a triple-double of 26 points with 19 rebounds and 11 assists, Aaron Gordon added 21 points while Will Barton chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Nuggets shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line as they took control of the contest with 37 points in the third quarter to build a 13-point lead, before they escaped with the narrow win after their lead was cut to just one point late in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in a slump as they’ve lost nine of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to put a halt to a four-game slide after falling short to the Hawks in a 132-123 loss on Monday. Buddy Hield led the team with 26 points and five assists, Tyrese Haliburton added 25 points with 13 assists while Keifer Sykes chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 51 percent from the field and 17 of 36 from the 3-point line, but they were always fighting an uphill battle in this one after allowing the Hawks to pour in 44 points in the first quarter to fall into an early double-digit deficit.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team below. 400 and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Pacers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the over is 16-7 in the last 23 meetings overall, the Nuggets are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Indiana and the Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Nuggets will again be missing Michael Porter Jr, Zeke Nnaji and JaMychal Green while the Pacers have nine players listed on the injury report including Oshae Brissett and Isaiah Jackson. The Nuggets are clearly the better team in this matchup and they have so much more to play for compared to the Pacers who would love for this season to end already. The line is a little hefty for a road team, but the Nuggets are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Indiana and this looks like a good spot for another big win and cover.
