The Milwaukee Bucks pay a visit to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in great form as they’ve won 10 of their last 13 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after getting stopped in their tracks by the surging Grizzlies in a 127-102 road loss on Saturday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 30 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, Khris Middleton added 16 points with five assists while Brook Lopez chipped in with 10 points, but no other player finished in double figures. As a team, the Bucks shot just 39 percent from the field and seven of 32 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense and managed just 18 points in the second quarter to trail by 13 points going into halftime and things only got worse in the third quarter where the Grizzlies exploded for 39 points to put them behind by as many as 25 points. Bobby Portis had a rough night as he finished with just seven points on two of 13 shooting off the bench.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall, but they will be aiming for a better showing in this one after having their three-game win streak halted by the Suns in a 114-104 road loss on Sunday. Joel Embiid led the team with 37 points and 15 rebounds, Tyrese Maxey added 18 points, Tobias Harris tallied 17 points with eight rebounds while James Harden scored 14 points with seven rebounds and nine assists. As a team, the 76ers shot just 41 percent from the field and 10 of 36 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start and poured in 64 points in the first half, but the shots weren’t falling in the second half and you have to point the finger at Harden who shot just two of 11 from the field. The 76ers also needed more from their bench who combined for just 15 points, but Harden was brought to the 76ers to score points and he hasn’t found any consistency just yet.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games, 2-7 ATS in their last nine games as a road underdog and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The 76ers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games, 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against a team above .600 and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings overall, the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Philadelphia and the Bucks are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.
The Bucks are coming into this meeting with plenty of momentum as they were on fire before they ran into a surging Grizzlies team on Saturday. It’s a similar story for the 76ers who were playing well before their loss to the Suns and Harden will be eager to bounce back after a poor shooting night on Sunday. The regular season series is currently tied at one game apiece, so you can make an argument for either side here, but there’s more to like about the Bucks at the moment and I think they represent decent value as underdogs here.
