The Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards collide at the Capital One Arena on Tuesday night.
The Chicago Bulls have been in a slump as they’ve lost six of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after coming up short to the Knicks in a 109-104 road loss last night. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 37 points and seven assists, Zach LaVine added 27 points while Nikola Vucevic chipped in with 16 points and 13 rebounds. As a team, the Bulls shot 43 percent from the field and just six of 23 from the 3-point line as they suffered a cold stretch in the second quarter which had them trailing by as many as 13 points, before they rallied late to make it interesting thanks to 15 fourth-quarter points from DeRozan. Coby White had a night to forget as he finished with just six points on two of nine shooting off the bench.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in a slump as they’ve lost eight of their last 11 games overall, but they will be aiming for a third straight win after taking down the Warriors in a 123-115 loss on Sunday. Corey Kispert drained six 3-pointers to lead the team with 25 points on nine of 12 shooting, Kristaps Porzingis added 23 points with nine rebounds and six assists while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope chipped in with 22 points on eight of eight shooting. As a team, the Wizards shot 52 percent from the field and 16 of 28 from the 3-point line as they took it right to the Warriors and jumped all over them in the first half to build an 18-point lead which proved to be more than enough as they were hardly challenged in the end, despite Porzingis shooting just six of 21 from the field and Ish Smith scoring just four points on two of 10 shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bulls are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 road games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games overall. The Wizards are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a winning record and 11-25-1 ATS in their last 37 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 19-9 in the last 28 meetings in Washington, the Bulls are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and the Bulls are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Washington.
The Bulls haven’t been able to get anything going lately and they’re playing this one on zero days’ rest after last night’s narrow loss to the Knicks, while the Wizards have come to life with two wins on the trot, but they will again be missing Kyle Kuzma. The Bulls will be gutted that they didn’t get the win last night, but they need this win to stay in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, while the Wizards have little to play for at this point. The Bulls are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Washington and I’m backing that trend to continue here.
