The Sacramento Kings pay a visit to the Miami Heat at the FTX Arena on Monday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in a funk as they’ve lost seven of their last 10 games overall, but they will be eager to build on their two-game win streak after outlasting the Magic in a 114-110 overtime road win on Saturday. Davion Mitchell led the team with 22 points, seven rebounds and nine assists, Harrison Barnes added 19 points withs even rebounds and five assists while Damion Jones and Alex Len scored 15 points apiece. As a team, the Kings shot just 42 percent from the field and 11 of 36 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 13-point lead and they looked to be in trouble in this one before they closed the final 1:14 of the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run to force overtime where they held the Magic to just five points to escape with the win.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in a serious slump as they’ve lost six of their last nine games and they will be hoping to put a halt to a four-game slide after getting routed by the Nets in a 110-95 loss on Saturday. Bam Adebayo led the team with 14 points, Tyler Herro and Max Strus each scored 13 points while Kyle Lowry chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Heat shot 44 percent from the field and 10 of 34 from the 3-point line as they got off to another horrible start and never looked likely after leaking an unforgiveable 40 points in the second quarter. The Heat were so bad in this one that they actually trailed by 37 points at one stage and Jimmy Butler had himself a night to forget as he scored just seven points on two of nine shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five road games, 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Heat are 0-6 ATS in their last six home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 0-7 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the over is 16-5 in the last 21 meetings overall, the Kings are 6-13 ATS in the last 19 meetings in Miami and the Kings are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.
The Kings will be shorthanded once again as Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox have both been ruled out, while the Heat have listed PJ Tucker, Gabe Vincent, Tyler Herro and Caleb Martin as questionable for this one. The Kings haven’t been in great shape, but they are coming into this one with plenty of momentum after outlasting the Magic in a thrilling overtime win on Saturday, while the Heat will be desperate to get back on track after losing their last four games in their worst slump of the season. This is a tough one to pick, but with the line so hefty, I have to lean towards the Kings and the points as they should be good enough to hang around and earn the cover.
