The Indiana Pacers invade the Scotiabank Arena to take on the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night.
The Indiana Pacers have been in a slump as they’ve lost seven of their last 10 games and they will be hoping to stop a two-game skid after getting run off the floor by the Grizzlies in a 133-103 road loss on Thursday. Lance Stephenson led the team with 25 points on 10 of 15 shooting off the bench, Terry Taylor added 17 points while Oshae Brissett chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Pacers shot just 42 percent from the field and nine of 33 from the 3-point line as they struggled to match the intensity of the Grizzlies to start the game and never looked like they were in the contest after getting outscored by 74-48 in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in great shape as they’ve won seven of their last nine games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Cavaliers in a 117-104 home win on Thursday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 35 points and six assists on 12 of 20 shooting, Chris Boucher added 17 points with eight rebounds and three steals off the bench while OG Anunoby chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 47 percent from the field and 16 of 37 from the 3-point line as they held the Cavaliers to just 17 points in the first quarter to take the early lead and they were good enough to stay in front the rest of the way as they kept the Cavaliers in check.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games as an underdog 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Raptors are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and the Pacers are 14-29 ATS in the last 43 meetings in Toronto.
The Pacers have a long list of players on the injury report with Chris Duarte and Isaiah Jackson both still out, while Jalen Smith, Duane Washington Jr and Goga Bitadze are all listed as questionable. The Raptors are just about at full strength for this one except for Gary Trent Jr. who is currently listed as questionable. The Pacers have been in terrible shape, they’re missing a bunch of players and they just got blown out by the Grizzlies, so I think I’ll stick with the Raptors who looked great in their win over the Cavaliers on Thursday. The Pacers are only 14-29 ATS in the last 43 meetings in Toronto and I think that trend continues here.
