The Sacramento Kings and the Indiana Pacers collide at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in a terrible slump as they’ve lost seven of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a three-game skid after getting stopped by the Suns in a 127-124 overtime loss on Sunday. Davion Mitchell led the team with 29 points and nine assists, Harrison Barnes added 21 points while Domantas Sabonis racked up 18 points with 12 rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Kings shot just 42 percent from the field and 16 of 34 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 14-point lead, before coming up painfully short in overtime where they held the lead on two occasions.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their last five games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after making light work of the Trail Blazers in a 129-98 home win on Sunday. Oshae Brissett led the team with 24 points on eight of 10 shooting, Justin Anderson added 18 points while Jalen Smith and Terry Taylor each scored 17 points. As a team, the Pacers shot a healthy 57 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start with 69 points in the first half, before outscoring the Trail Blazers by 35-16 in the fourth quarter to make it a complete blowout.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six road games, 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games playing on two days rest and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Pacers are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 home games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team below. 400.
Head to head, the under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings overall and the Kings are 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Indiana.
The Kings are going to be without Domantas Sabonis for the next five games while De’Aaron Fox is listed as day to day. The Pacers are also shorthanded and they could be without Isaiah Jackson, Tyrese Haliburton and Chris Duarte are all questionable. This should be a close one, but with Sabonis out, I’ll happily lean towards the Pacers to get the job done at home.
