The Golden State Warriors travel to the FTX Arena to take on the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.
The Golden State Warriors have been in a slump as they’ve lost eight of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to arret a three-game skid after falling short against the Magic in a 94-90 road loss last night. Jordan Poole led the team with 26 points and six assists, Klay Thompson added 15 points while Jonathan Kuminga and Otto Porter Jr. each scored 14 points. As a team, the Warriors shot just 40 percent from the field and 11 of 32 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense and managed just 17 points in the first quarter to fall behind by eight points going into halftime before they exploded for 36 points in the third quarter to build a 14-point lead. However, they couldn’t find their offense when it mattered as they scored just 16 points in the fourth quarter to allow the Magic to slip away in the end. Andrew Wiggins had a night to forget as he scored just 13 points on five of 19 shooting from the field.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in decent form as they’ve won six of their last nine games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back after getting stopped in their tracks by the 76ers in a 113-106 road loss on Monday. Jimmy Butler led the team with 27 points and six assists, Bam Adebayo added 22 points with nine rebounds and three blocks while Kyle Lowry chipped in with 20 points and six assists. As a team, the Heat shot 47 percent from the field and 10 of 33 from the 3-point line as they jumped out of the gates with 32 points in the first quarter, but they couldn’t keep up the pace and eventually succumbed to the shorthanded 76ers who were without their best player in Joel Embiid. Bench scoring was the difference in this one as the 76ers’ reserves outscored the Heat’s by 46-30 and they needed more from Max Strus who finished with just one point on zero of five shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team above .600 and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Heat are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings overall, the Warriors are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the Warriors are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Miami.
The Warriors will again be missing Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala, while the Heat are sweating on the availability of Jimmy Butler, Victor Oladipo, Caleb Martin and Tyler Herro who are all questionable. The Warriors have really struggled since Curry went down and now they have to take on the Heat on zero days’ rest. The Heat could be a little banged up in this one as they have four players under an injury cloud, but they’ve dealt with that all season and they’ve managed to come through time and time again. This should be a close one, but the Warriors are only 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Miami and I think that trend continues here.
